Zoe Dempster

Zoe Dempster currently resides in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. She holds a BA in FIne Arts and has worked in the Film and Television industry since 2008. She is currently the Operations Manager for Local 709 of the I.A.T.S.E.(Film Technicians Union). Along with her involvement in the arts she also runs a Historical Walking Tour in the summers in her hometown of Pouch Cove. 

Her father was diagnosed with dementia in 2022 but has been subtly changing for years prior to the diagnosis. In 2023 her father was officially categorized as having Alzheimer's Disease. Zoe currently supports her mother in caring for her father and meeting his ever evolving needs. Zoe has been a member of the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador since 2020 and joined CCNA's Engagement of People with Lived Experience of Dementia in April 2023. In her spare time Zoe enjoys the outdoors and being close to her family.

Research Interests

Zoe's research interests include but are not limited to Alzheimer's disease, education and awareness of dementia, quality of life, human rights, neuropsychiatric symptoms, quality of care in seniors facilities and long term care.
